Acerola – Acerola cherries, commonly found in the regions of South America and Central America, have a ton of skin benefits.
They contain many antioxidants and high levels of Vitamin C which help to eliminate the build-up of free radicals (unstable molecules produced as waste products of chemical reactions in the skin).
Acerola extract is also known to have a brightening effect on the skin which makes it great at tackling hyperpigmentation. It is also a good ingredient to fight aging because it contains Vitamin A, a popular ingredient in ‘anti-aging’ skin care.
Rooibos Leaf – Commonly consumed as a tea, Rooibos Leaf also has great skin benefits.
It can help graceful aging and prevent against skin conditions such as eczema and acne. It is also known to be hypoallergenic and be useful in fighting against bacterial infection on the skin. It also contains vitamins such as Vitamin D and zinc which help to promote, maintain and prolong the appearance of healthy skin.
Bamboo – This has been a popular ingredient in K Beauty for a while and it’s easy to see why.
Include bamboo in your skin care and it will provide moisture, it’s great at fighting acne, it contains natural silica which is great at healing and regenerating the skin barrier and it also contains amino acids and antioxidants which help to shield the skin from UV rays. You’ll still need to use your SPF though 🙂

How I use it
I am currently using this cleanser as the second step in my night time skin care routine. In the evenings I do a double cleanse meaning I will wash my face twice. First I wash with an oil or a balm cleanser, then I wash my face again with a water based cleanser, like the Clean It Zero Foam Cleanser.
The purpose of this double cleanse is to clean your skin of the different types of impurities it accumulates throughout the day. For the first cleanse, using an oil or balm cleanser helps remove oil based impurities like makeup, SPF or excess sebum. For the second cleanse, using a water based cleanser helps to remove water based impurities like sweat or dirt.
Let’s focus on water based cleansers.
Water based cleansers come in a few consistencies such as a foam, a gel or cleansing water. The one I am reviewing today has a gel/cream like consistency.
To use it, I first wet my face and neck. This will ensure that the product will foam up and activate upon contact with my face. I squeeze a 20p size amount onto my palm and rub and massage the product around my face and neck for 1 minute.
Afterwards I rinse my face with lukewarm water and pat to dry.
My Thoughts
Honestly, I can’t complain about this product. Banila Co is known for their high quality balm cleansers so I had high hopes for this gel/cream cleanser and I wasn’t disappointed.
This cost about 12,000KRW which is about £8/$10, which for me, isn’t that bad compared to other products I have bought. You get 150ml which is a decent amount and I don’t use a lot each evening so I see this product lasting me a while.
I have normal type skin and this product foams up really easily and doesn’t sting, give me a rash or break me out.
I got a little concerned when I used this product for the first time however. When I was rinsing my face and washing the product off, I could feel that my face had that ‘squeaky clean’ feeling and I was worried that the cleanser was too strong and had stripped the natural oils from my face.
However, after patting my face dry my skin felt soft, moisturised and not tight at all. I was pretty impressed actually. Are you telling me that I can achieve skin that looks and feels ‘squeaky clean’ but doesn’t feel dry or stripped of its natural oils?! Well played Banila Co, well played.
I really don’t know what else to say. For me it’s reasonably priced, there’s a decent amount of product in the bottle, it works really well for my skin type and it doesn’t dry out my face. Overall I feel really happy about this skin care purchase and would recommend it for most skin types.
