About the Writer

My name is Jessica and I am from Manchester, UK. I attended The University of Manchester from 2013 – 2016 and have a BA (Hons) in Drama and English Literature.

From 2018 – 2020 I lived in South Korea and taught English in a Korean middle school. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I lived out of my comfort zone, I grew as a person, I travelled around Asia, I met amazing people, I learnt how to teach and I had countless adventures. It was challenging but truly incredible.

Whilst living in Korea I managed to travel to Japan, Bali, Taipei and Singapore. (L -> R)

I developed a love of travelling throughout my childhood and teenage years as I was privileged to travel abroad with my family and with school to places in the USA and Europe.

After Graduation in 2016, I travelled solo across 11 countries in Europe in 23 days. Exhausting but unbelievable!

I believe travelling is such a great educator. You develop confidence, a strong sense of independence, your mind opens to other ways of life and you learn about the world.

I really want to travel again one day because that is one time when I feel I am being most fulfilled in life. I’m thinking Central or South America for the culture, music and food.

Some things I love: Cooking and eating delicious food, comedy, fitness, playing piano, reading, listening to music, singing and learning.

Nice to meet you! x
